• Tapestry needle
GAUGE
Gauge for sleeve: 10 sts x 6 rows in dc = 3 inches (7.5 cm)
Gauge for back and front of sweater: 1 complete chevron (from top of one chevron to the top of the next, total 10 dc stitches) x 5 chevron rows = 3 inches (7.5 cm)
Gauge is very important for this project! If you ignore it, you risk ending up with a sweater that’s either huge or doll size. Crochet a swatch of wavy chevron stitches and a swatch of regular double crochet stitches, then check your gauge so you can adjust your hook size if necessary. Check again after completing a few rows of the back of the sweater, and again when you make the sleeves. If your gauge is off, it’s better to find out early so you can make adjustments, rather than when it’s too late to start over.
